This Christmas grab your crimpers and get crimping! Yes, that's right it's back and I'm going to show you a few ways you can wear your hair this Party Season. Retro styles are back and this is a really fun one to embrace, it's also really wearable. Here's how.

Selective Crimping: Take random pieces of hair and crimp, this is much more wearable and it will add a little bit of drama and playfulness to your look.

Clever Crimping: Not sure you want to go crimp crazy? Don't worry, this is also a really great way to add volume to your hair without having to backcomb. Simply crimp the root area to add volume with ease (remember to leave the top section crimp free).

Dramatic Crimped Pony: Create a really sleek pony then crimp the rest, I really love the super-smooth pulled back look with a dramatic twist. This is a really easy way to make the look feel modern and fresh. Plus it's perfect if you hate wearing your hair down but still want to be on trend this season.

Glam Crimp: You can really work this trend with a healthy dose of Hollywood glam. Shorter hair, with a side parting and a full crimped do' will incredible. Wear this with a red lip and a sparkly dress! Gorgeous.

Have fun! Crimped hair should be fun, so don’t be afraid to play around with different styles. Add extra interest to up-dos by crimping your hair before putting it in a braid or bun, or leave your top layers straight for an instant volume boost. Don't forget to add some glitter and get your sparkle on!

Will you be trying the crimping trend this season? Ask in the salon to see how we can make it work for you!

 coachella hair
Festival season is almost upon us and with Coachella happening right now and all of the other major festivals just around the corner I thought it would be a great time to share my favourite festival worthy braids. When it comes to festival hair many of us seem to go down the flower crown route but that's not always the easiest or most practical, I mean who wants to be dancing around trying to keep a crown on their head? Braids are super quick and easy to do and you also get two styles in one because once you let those braids loose you are going to be left with gorgeous wavy tresses!
Feeling lazy, no worries with this style the messier the better! Grab some surf spray to add some more texture and get braiding. The looser the better, a super sexy and easy look to achieve.
Although we are steering away from flower crowns don't be afraid to try the braided crown, it's a very gorgeous look and it's the best look for keeping hair out of the face. Ideal for those that like to wear their hair up but fancy an added festival vibe.
Embrace those natural waves or if you haven't got much movement try using the Bumble Don't Blow It styling cream to enhance your natural wave. Add some baby plaits sporadically, you can do this anywhere and even create your own braided hairband for added cuteness!
Braid within a braid is a super clever way to make you look like you've spend a lot of time but really you haven't. It looks super complicated but is actually a very simple style to achieve and so many styles you could do too, how about braidy buns!

Olaplex Review

I thought it was about time I spoke to you all about Olaplex, this is an amazing new upgrade service for hair colouring that you can now get at Steven & Laurent and it's something I'd highly recommend. I have been having this treatment for around 6 months now and I have to say it has completely transformed my hair for the better so let me talk you through what it does and how it can work for you.

Olaplex is a single active ingredient which works to repair and reconnect the sulfur bonds broken by the process of permanent hair colouring, it strengthens the hair from the inside out. I have been colouring my hair for the past 10 years and it's been through a lot including bleach on numerous occasions, I'm blonde now and have my hair coloured every 6-8 weeks so as you can imagine it's quite a lot to handle so instead of giving my hair a break for a few months I just have the Olaplex treatment included in my hair appointment and it has really helped with the overall condition and appearance of my hair.

Olaplex is a treatment broken up into 3 parts, you can choose to just go for 2 parts or include the additional products which you can use at home to complete part 3. Part 1 is a powder added to your colour, in my case a lightener and it starts to work whilst you colour your hair, part 2 is a treatment applied at the basin once the colour has been washed off and part 3 is a treatment to continue at home which is an intense conditioning treatment and a must have in my opinion even Kim Kardashian loves it “When your hair is really damaged, if you sleep in that, it really works. I notice a huge difference!"

If you are looking to give your hair a new lease of life then I'd highly recommend Olaplex, call the salon now to book your treatment and add it to your next appointment you won't be disappointed!
